Hello Ruby friends!

OK, so it's been a minute. 😅 Fullstack Ruby was on hiatus last year, and I delve into the some of the reasons why in my new blog post as well as another post on the Bridgetown website. (post link)

But the TL;DR is I've found a way to thread the needle back to feeling pumped about working in Ruby and on Ruby-themed projects again—most specially around the Bridgetown ecosystem as well as Roda, Sequel, and Rodauth which are increasingly playing a role in my business to enable publishing and commerce—and I have a lot to talk about!

I understand you yourself may have “moved on” to other things since you originally subscribed to this newsletter…or maybe the "alt Ruby" community beyond the confines of Rails doesn't tickle your fancy…so it's totally fine if you want to unsub. I'll just throw out one other suggestion: I also have a newsletter at That HTML Blog which might be more to your liking as a general #WebDev news aggregator.

Yet if you are here because you love Ruby, and I'm here because I still love Ruby, then what else do we need?

​Fullstack Ruby has been completely redesigned in 2024, and I'm looking forward to posting here regularly again as well as jumpstarting the podcast again. There are a lot of interesting patterns possible in modern Ruby, and I still think we have a real opportunity to offer better options to the web development industry—particularly when it comes to frontend development which often seems challenged by the notion of tools being simple & expressive as well as powerful & capable.

I hope you'll continue to explore this space with me. The journey awaits…
